As Justice League’s box office figures continue to wane, the number of leaks concerning Zack Snyder’s original Justice League cut have only increased with each passing day. At this rate, maybe one day we’ll get the complete picture-locked version of the film leaked online. But let’s address today’s leak courtesy of Justice League cinematographer, Fabian Wagner.
In an interview with Inverse via email, Wagner said “There were [scenes shot]. It’s a cool looking costume. Sadly, we didn’t see that either in the final cut.” Justice League was following The Death of Superman storyline from the 1990s in which Superman was killed by Doomsday – as he was in Batman v Superman – only to be resurrected several issues later in the black suit. 
Rumors of the suit emerged shortly after Justice League’s production began. Reddit went wild when a leaked Matel merchandise tie-in was revealed in the DC_Cinematic thread. The toy card displayed accurate designs of each of the characters and indeed included a black suited Superman.
Even Superman himself, Henry Cavill, teased the suit on Instagram last year in 2017.

UPDATE
The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez has tweeted that the Black Suit was supposed to be nothing more than an easter egg in the film. Gonzalez tweeted:
“re: Black Superman Suit. So originally when Superman was resurrected, in a chamber his black suit was there on display. He takes a quick (look) at it and that’s it. It was supposed to be a cool moment/ easter egg for the fans. That was the extent of it.”
